  1. My favorite winter meal? A good ol’ fashion cup of chicken noodle soup! I make mine with meatballs made of ground chicken. I then doctor the broth up with tons of onions, celery, carrots and garlic, throw in some wheat noodles…my mouth is watering just talking about it. Also, I just “liked” you on Facebook! 2 points!

  2. I love when my husband, who HATES meatloaf, makes his italian version: polpetonne! It’s a a heavy and not so healthy dish though, so once a year is a treat!

  3. You were very helpful, I am glad joined in on the question and Answer session. =) thanks!! I will hopefully be joining the next one as well!

  4. Facebook fan- Betsy fan – loved the Q&A . Love winter cooking – pull out some of the veggies you froze in the fall – add some olive oil and rosemary- over brown rice and some chicken breasts

  5. Oh, and while I’m here… my favorite winter recipes is pulled pork in the crockpot. I’m actually starting to prep it now to have tomorrow for dinner. I top it with my grandma’s coleslaw recipe. Soo good!

  6. I make a really tasty vegetable soup. It has zucchini, celery, potatoes, carrots, shallots, tomatoes and pasta. My kids love it. So nice to serve on a cold evening. It’s healthy and still feels like comfort food.

  7. Probably my favorite winter meal is chili, the way my mom makes it. Meat AND beans, with some extra veggies tossed in for good measure. Not too difficult to make, great as leftovers, even out of the freezer. Probably made not-so-good by the corn bread we serve with it, which my Southern brother-in-law insists is more like “corn cake” for the amount of sugar in the recipe. Oh, and the 1/2 pound of butter… but it’s SO yummy! Of course, I forgot to take a pic when I made it last, so I’m tagging you in an older pic of the same thing. Only difference is that the child “helping” cook is bigger now!

  8. I’m in love with my new parsnip-leek soup with crabmeat as my favorite winter meal along with a kale salad.
