It takes me a good 30 minutes to get out of the house these days. And this is just for a walk. We aren’t even getting in the car. Again, how do people have more than one kid? Just sayin. Whew. I attempt to put Madilyn’s shoes on. Fail. She only wants to wear her silver sparkly shoes. She has a mini breakdown. I take a deep breath. Not a big deal. Breathe mama breathe.

Two minutes into the walk I jump in pain. I got stung by a bee. Awesome. This hasn’t happened to me since I was like 5 years old. I look up and ask, “Is this the kind of day it’s going to be?” I swat at the bee and jump around trying to get this damn thing away from me. Madilyn cracks up in her stroller laughing at Mum Mum dance.

I continue on. It was 77 degrees out with a nice breeze. Absolutely beautiful weather. I was determined to go for a walk outside with my daughter. My leg starts to swell and burn like hell. I text my sister for bee sting remedies. I continue on.

We end up walking for 2 hours. Yes, 2 hours! Madilyn fell asleep so gracefully in the stroller. I stopped at a coffee shop and had a cup of tea. I sat down on a bench and went through some email on my phone. My leg continued to burn but I didn’t mind one bit.

Life has it’s ups and downs. It has it’s bee stings that totally suck and could ruin your day if you let them. Life also has beautiful moments like a 2 hour nap with a sleeping baby, a chai tea and a cool breeze.

What I’m saying is to kwiturbeleakin. Yes, you heard me.

As I think back to my childhood, one of my memories is sitting in my grandparents TV room staring at this piece of carved wood that sat on a book shelf by the fireplace. I would stare at it trying to figure out what it says. One day I got it! Quit your belly aching.

When my grandma passed away a few years ago we had to clean our her house. I knew there was one thing I wanted. I wanted this sign.

Today, it sits on my window sill in my kitchen. As I wash dishes every day I am reminded to stop stressing about the little things. I am blessed. Life is good.

Know what else helps a belly ache? Greens! Kwiturbeleakin and eat a big fruity salad.
