Hello! I’m Betsy.

Thanks for stopping by. Me - Wife, mom, health coach and blogger here at BMooreHealthy.com. Why BMoore Healthy? Well, Moore is my last name since marrying my stud of a husband - my maiden name is Difilippo and I am not sure I could have pulled off an awesome business name with that one! The hubs actually thought of BMoore Healthy one night - his nickname growing up was BMoore and adding "Healthy" to that, well, it just worked perfectly. #thankshubs

My blog is all about finding ways to be a little more healthy - through faith, marriage, motherhood, keeping home a happy place and self-care through exercise and eating right.

I am the founder of Mama Sanity Bootcamp, Busy Women Mealtime Makeover, 12 Days of Healthy Holiday Recipes, Baby, Let's Eat and the author of Cut the 'Food' Crap Downloadable Fall Meal Plans and Easy, Real, Winter Warming Recipes.

MEET BETSY

I spend most of my days playing dolls, getting creative in my kitchen (especially making different healthy pancakes!), binge watching shows on Showtime, occasionally reading a book for fun and spending way too much time on social media. Kinda addicted to Instagram. Kinda. Facebook too.

Want to see how we spend a typical weekend morning? Read all about it here.

I'm married to my college love, Brian. Almost 10 years married. Wow. On a cold January afternoon in 2002, he saw me one day in the "ski lodge" at Washington & Jefferson College - this is where all the cool kids went to study - in my hometown of Washington, Pennsylvania and he says he knew right there he needed to meet me. One Friday night, he saw me at a college fraternity party (don't worry mom, I was being good!) and we joke because he actually elbowed me in the face. Yep, that is our "how mommy and daddy met" story for our kids. We got married in June, 2006. We spent many years in the Philadelphia, PA area but made our way home to the southwestern side of the state and we are fixing up an old 1925 house in my hometown of Washington which is about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh. #gosteelers #gopenguins

Brian is totally go with the flow and I am not that way AT ALL. I like things in order. I like to have a plan. I like to decorate our house and then re-do it all over again the following weekend because that end table is just. not. perfect. We have found that putting our marriage first (yes, even before the girls!) and having regular dates has been epic. We even leave the country from time to time - with or without the girls - and have a deep love for traveling the world especially visiting Puerto Rico. Brian loves chicken wings and anything on the grill and I am over here like, "Try this green smoothie!" He is the best optometrist in the land and supplies me with free eye drops and designer sunglasses. Score! He eats anything I cook - and I do a lot of cooking up in here! - and that's also why our marriage is so awesome these days. #thanksbabe

We have two adorable little girlies - Madilyn - 6 and Juliana - 3 and one fur daughter, our Westie dog, Charli - 10. I talk all about them here on my blog and also over on Instagram where I probably spend too much time! I just love it.

Motherhood is the craziest "job" I have ever had - it is wildly wonderful yet totally exhausting. Since becoming a mama, I am a work-at-home mama which means I stay home with the girls full time while working on my blog and business during nap time and at night. I LOVE the flexibility this job gives me and I LOVE to write and work with all of my amazing clients. Seriously, one of the best decisions I ever met was becoming a health coach. What is a health coach? Read all about it here. Postpartum depression kicked my ass twice. I am just trying to find some sanity over here and I write ALOT about it. #mamasanity

now2 Before becoming a health coach and blogger, I worked in the stressful consulting world. I loved the people I worked with - and I loved the paycheck! - but the lifestyle was totally wearing me down and my health was paying the price. I traveled full time. I lived in hotels. I was a workaholic working 70 hour weeks. I was addicted to coffee and sugar. I lived on Lean Cuisines and Diet Coke. I hated to cook. I had terrible headaches, lots of food and environmental allergies and skin rashes. I was constantly dieting yet 10 pounds heavier than I am now. I was a “junk food vegetarian.”

One day - at work ironically! - I listened to a health coach talk about the connection between the food we eat and the life we live. I was amazed and I wanted to learn more. I always thought I was a healthy eater since I ate diet foods and didn’t eat much meat. Wrong! From that day on, I decided that my life needed to change and I needed to share this information with the world.

I enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) to learn about nutrition and to build my health coaching business. Plus, my headaches went away, my allergies were not unbearable anymore, my skin cleared up and I had more energy than I ever had in my life.

PicMonkey Collage Improving my food choices changed more than just my diet. I found that my head was more clear. I noticed that I didn't need pain medications for my headaches or special lotions for my skin rashes. When I became a mama, I realized that the way I treated myself directly affected the kind of mama I am with my kids. If I eat like crap, we have a crappy day. If I exercise and make a healthy meal for us to enjoy as a family, we have a much better day. I LOVE working with women, especially moms, to help them find time for themselves and to learn how to cook real food for themselves and their family.

So, what's my blog about, you ask?

You will find posts on our Catholic faith, our marriage, our miscarriage, mama sanity - how I am trying to stay sane over here as a mama!, our home remodeling projects, fitness, healthy recipes - and some not so healthy recipes!, and I'll write about my favorites - products, services and other bloggers I adore.

I hope you will follow us in this crazy yet wonderful life… I am sure we have lots of fun and adventure ahead - and kale smoothies too! #lovekale #lovepizzatoo

So, what do I do with clients, you ask?

I love to work with women, especially mamas, either one-on-one or in groups.

If you need to get in contact with me please email me at betsyjmoore@gmail.com.

I believe that all mamas (yes, YOU!) deserve to enjoy motherhood despite the craziness. Yes, you deserve #mamasanity. You also deserve to live a healthy and happy life and I'm here to help you figure it all out - including how to get a decent dinner on the table! No, not frozen fish sticks. So, sit back, take a look around and try out some of my recipes this week.
