You’ll scream for banana “ice cream.” Promise.


So, the other night it was like a thousand degrees out and my husband says, “Let’s go get ice cream.” I thought about it but then remembered this recipe (thanks Michelle!) I saw for banana hazelnut “ice cream” and decided to make it instead. Sorry Dairy Queen I got this covered!
I am tell you what, this is actually better than “real” ice cream if you ask me. Don’t worry, the recipe is coming. Keep reading. I really never feel great when I eat ice cream made from cow’s milk. Do you? Below are my top 3 reasons why I like this better.
No phlegm monster. When I eat dairy ice cream I get terrible phlegm in my throat. Not cool. I am constantly clearing my throat. I have trouble running the next day. So not cool.
No 3 month pregnant looking belly. I get terribly bloated from the stuff. Any one else?
No guilt. This is a big one for me. When I eat too much crap I feel like crap and then I regret it so add more feelings of crap on top. No thank ya.

Chocolate Banana Hazelnut “Ice Cream”
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 frozen peeled banana, chopped into pieces (Make sure you peel that banana before you put it in the freezer… I usually freeze overnight)

1/4 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
Dash of hazelnut extract
Dash of sea salt
Directions:
Place the bananas, chocolate chips and hazelnut extract in a small food processor or blender. Blend the hell out of those bananas until they resemble creamy ice cream. This will take a few minutes. Sprinkle sea salt to taste.
