You cooked for the first time in weeks. You ran 2 miles for the first time. You got married. Or maybe you stopped worrying so much about money and treated yourself to a new outfit.
It is time to celebrate!
My one sister just got married over the weekend so I have the word “celebrate” on the brain. I looked this word up and my favorite definition is, “to observe a notable occasion with festivities.” Yes, of course, marriage is a “notable occasion.” The day your child is born. Obviously, another “notable occasion.” But what about the small things like getting all the laundry done by noon or making dinner without burning it or finding 30 minutes in your day to take a bubble bath. Are these all “notable occasions?” I think so. They have to be.
Are you singing “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang yet? Yeah, I thought so.
The notion is to celebrate all the small successes in life and put more emphasis on the positive. Treat yourself. Smile. It is too damn easy to focus on the negatives. Switch it around my friends.
As a mama, it is so easy to get buried in the laundry, dirty diapers and endless cleaning of my kitchen floor. Give yourself some credit and celebrate. Go get that manicure and pedicure. I treated myself to both for the wedding. This morning I was celebrating my nails. Nicest they have looked since I have been a mama.
What can you celebrate today?
Yay for weddings AND celebrating :D. Today, I can celebrate a day at home with my husband, good coffee, my health and the chance to spend the entire day tomorrow with a close friend of mine.
Very nice Dana! Enjoy!
